SAHSAC has been working alongside the poor and suffering since 1983, and we are continually working to ensure every dollar is used to its fullest for this purpose. Anything less would violate the trust we keep with you, the children, families, and communities we serve, and most importantly, with God.
We are committed to the highest standard of stewardship excellence. We will make every effort to honor any designation or preference you have stated. In certain circumstances, where a project is overfunded or cannot be carried out in accordance with your preference, the funds will be used for similar projects approved by our Senior Program Officers.
SAHSAC uses your information to understand your needs and provide you with better service. We may collect certain contact information (such as your name and email address) through our website when you contact us, subscribe to our email list, or download content. Unless you opt out, we may use this contact information to send you additional information about SAHSAC and its programs. Your voluntarily provided contact information may also be used to contact you when necessary in order to resolve customer service issues or questions. You may readily opt out of receiving future communications; see the “opt out” and “modifying your information” sections below.
Our site collects information through our secure contribution forms and our My Account sign up and features. We collect your willingly-submitted contact information such as your phone number, mailing address, and email address. For our volunteers, we also collect other personal information such as birthdate and passport information. Any of your financial information (such as a credit card type, number, and expiration date) is collected and stored using a secure, third party; we do not personally keep that information. Information collected it used to complete a transaction, track your giving history, communicate back to you, update you on your sponsored child and special events, and to personalize our services and communications with you. Credit card and/or checking account information is used only for payment processing and is not retained for other purposes. From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research or provide you with information we think would be of particular interest.
As with most other internet sites, our web servers utilize “cookies” to track a user’s activity within our site as well as record the IP address of each visitor to this site. A cookie is a small data file that is stored on your computer. A cookie contains a unique identifying feature that allows our computer to recognize you when you return to the SAHSAC site. The recorded IP address tells us which domain you visited from (for instance, yahoo.com), but not your email address or other private and personal information. We use the information we record to help diagnose problems with our servers, to administer this website more effectively, and to gather broad demographic information about what countries and domains our visitors come from and their behavior on our site.
In some situations SAHSAC retains third-party service providers to perform processing tasks or more effectively target our donor communications, and transfers personal data to those partners, we require that these groups agree to provide at least an equivalent level of protection as provided by SAHSAC.
SAHSAC may offer features which allow you to inform an individual about an event like an upcoming benefit dinner. If you choose to use our referral features, we will ask you for your referral’s name and email address in order to send them an electronic communication inviting them to our event. We will store this information for the sole purpose of sending this email and tracking the success of these efforts to expand the reach of our work. If you choose to participate in our Invite a Friend service, you represent and warrant that you have a personal relationship with your referral and that you are authorized to share their information with SAHSAC for the purpose of sending this invitation to them.
SAHSAC is committed to ensuring the security of your information. We have implemented reasonable electronic, physical and procedural safeguards designed to help protect against the loss, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration or destruction of the information under our control. We use encryption systems, when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information. Certain features of our website may require you to use an access code, password or similar unique identifier. You are responsible for protecting the secrecy of your account information. Although we strive to protect your personal information, no data transmission over the Internet is completely secure. There is some risk associated with any data transmission, including the risk that personal information may be intercepted in transit. If a breach of your personal information occurs we will provide a notification as soon as possible and by a manner permitted by your local jurisdiction.
